The company I work for is a pacesetter company with United Way, and the time is here for the pledges to be made. I contribute quite a sum of money to the UW, and direct it to the Alzheimers Foundation (my mother has Alzheimers).
Every year we have a Company games event, which is held outside, and is just a good fun time for all involved. The VP of the division that I am in asked me if the weather was going to be clear on Thursday morning, the day of the event.
I told him that it was going to storm in the morning. He did not believe me, since it has been dry almost all month. Well, he went ahead and held the games. Low and behold on Thursday morning we had fairly strong storms and almost an inch of rain, and the games had to be rescheduled.
Now did I rub this in..............YES
I think to shut me up, the company donated $500 extra dollars in my name to United Way.
Maybe he will listen next time!!!

I am glad they did not believe you Jeff. lol.
I also donate money to United Way and other organizations that I feel are legit. I wish they would find a cure for that disease!! I am sorry to hear about your Mother too. The vet that I used for 15 years is in the early stages of it. It is a very frustrating disease for all involved. He had to retire early.
I am glad it did rain causing them to donate money. Good for you!! God heard you Jeff.

I know how you feel Jeff...my great aunt trusts tv weathermen more than my forecast...even the weekend flunkies, and I'll admit when I'm right (which is a LOT more than they are
--it is indeed satisfying
I also can relate to Alzheimers....my stepmother is suffering the early stages of it, and her mom suffered from Alheimers also. It is sad to witness. Dad is afraid to even let my stepmother drive alone anymore....several months ago she started to her daughter's home four miles away -- she ended up in eastern Alabama, and couldn't remember how to get back home

I know in my area our local TV met is the man!!! All the weekend mets that we have are snatched up if they are any good. The good one we had is Todd Adams and he is now our Civil Defense Director. It is weird to see him on TV. I graduated with him and had NO clue he could become what he became. lol. We went to school together since the 7th grade!!
