Yeah, I wonder why it took so long for Bill to establish an inner core?

Three new drops since the last one. They appear to be flying SE towards Bill again. I don't know if they will drop anything in the storm though:

I am still seeing more of a west movement still with a jog to the north here and there. But more west right now. Don't see him making that turn any time real soon. It is going to be close. We will have to see when he turns north more that west.

Seems like thats classic stair stepping SINC. Anyway thus far the upper high isn't weakening too much, the weakness to Bill's west is still strong enough to allow it to lift up to the WNW it seems however.

I am in that camp too Mj.Yes,it passed just north of the 15N-50W box but until it passes the latitud of the most northern island I wont be tranquil.I cant forget Luis (not me but the hurricane) as he loved the 17N line.

It's making me a little nuts because I'm trying to get some help moving a very ill friend's boat (that was supposed to be moved three days ago) and the jerkazoid supposed to help keeps saying "Ah, don't warry about it, nothing is coming here." GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/tropic2/real ... L-list.txt

according to ADT pressure has dropped like a rock in the past few hrs.
991MB at 0345 utc to 955MB at 1045utc
thats 36MB in 7 hrs! i know its just an estimate but thats a hefty drop, and if that eye clears out and starts shrinking the pressure could drop alot more. i could see it getting down to the 920's. its a big storm so the winds might not be as strong as the would for a smaller system with the same pressure. very impressive, starting to look like a major with nice symetrical convection.

[It's making me a little nuts because I'm trying to get some help moving a very ill friend's boat (that was supposed to be moved three days ago) and the jerkazoid supposed to help keeps saying "Ah, don't warry about it, nothing is coming here." GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR]

I hope you get some help Luis.

according to ADT pressure has dropped like a rock in the past few hrs.

A pressure of 955mb in its general environment would be about 90-95 kt winds.

Yep CronkPSU that will be good news for us tracking the hurricane, a nice eye always help with the tracking. I suspect we are likely looking at the strongest hurricane of the season developing unless we get a fluke system into the Caribbean which doesn't get shear-blasted!

A beautiful textbook presentation of a hurricane this morning. What a pic WmE! It looks like something that will end up in a textbook one day.
