Well, the storms have somehow managed to miss me. Looking at radar, I don't see how it's possible. BUT... I think I figured it out. I'm not really here. I thought I was, but according to radar, I just don't exist. Every single speck of the radar within a 10-15 mile est. radius of where I "thought I was" on the map has been covered with strong storms at various times throughout the past several hours. I've heard a ton of thunder, it's gotten dark at times, but nada. I got light rain for a couple of minutes early on, before the radar really lit up, but that's it. Not enough to even be considered a trace... nothing is wet and no evidence of the sprinkles. And yet, radar shows I've gotten pounded a few times. hmmm... maybe it just missed me by a couple of streets. Or maybe I'm really in a black hole.
oooh, I see Jason!

I'm in between storms it seems. The first set started forming right over me, but as posted above, most of it moved to my south before it really got cranking. We had an extended period of those super big tropical rain drops (I call it bullet rain) but it didn't get that heavy. It would start-up a little, then back off, then start up, then back off, etc. So we were right on the edge of things as the storm kept getting larger while trying to move away. This went on for over 30 minutes.
I'm amazed that the severe storm to our north (near Conroe) is holding together so well. It's about 78 degrees here now so we'll see if it instantaneously collapses right before it gets here...

Rough night Jason.
Just got a few drops, but those cool ENE winds feel awfully good.

I finally got some rain. It was pretty hard for a little while, then some light stuff lingered for a bit. Not nearly as much as some of the areas around me, but I was happy to finally get something besides thunder and lightning all day! I just dumped my rain gauge... right on the 1 inch line. I'd like some more, but the forecast shows many sunny days ahead.
Close call, Jason.
I remember you asking for rain, not tornadoes.
Close call, Jason.

Got the 7 10 split here tonight..Was really hoping the storm from the NE would hold together but Jasons was right. Fell apart on our doorstep. Well, looks like our next decent chance is not until next weekend.

Huntsville, moving south. Storms are firing along it now
Sure it is!!!![]()
It is 100ºf right now and radar doesn't give me any promise unless I am East of I-45 or South of Hwy 59. Please prove me wrong!!!
Ok!! Whoever I pissed off, I apologize!!! We just got power back after the nice little severe t'storm you sent my way. Measured gusts were 50 mph at the weatherbug nearest me, but my guess is we went severe since we had 2"+ limbs come down. I would not be at all surprised if I find out a tornado passed to our West as our winds suddenly shifted and went severe from the opposite direction. I don't know how much rain we had because there is no way the gauge could catch it since it was going sideways, but we got at least 1.5". Hail fortunately was short lived and only pea sized that I saw. Anyway we are back and the electricity is on and that is a good thing.
