Wave west south west of Cape verde islands

#1 Postby Aric Dunn » Mon Aug 24, 2009 8:02 pm

I dont see a thread for this system and uf there is just get rid of this one..

Anyway the wave clearly has a low level circulation that throughout the day has seemingly tightened even being nearly devoid of convection.. I would imagine if the circulation continues to tighten then the low level convergence may increase enough to combat some of the dry air inhibiting the system now and we may be looking at another invest sometime tomorrow ..

there is some decent vorticity which is apparent in the loop..

I've noticed it too, if convection starts popping in the decent cyclonic envelope that it has, then we may have something in a day or two. Right now the SAL to the N & NW seems to be inhibiting it from moistening up..........

The TPC has tagged this area with a surface low and has it generally moving towards the islands. This may be the one we have to watch very closely because I don't see any recurve in the TPC forecast.

According to those graphics, the TPC forecast a gradually stronger high pressure system...So lets continue to watch this area and the one coming off the Afrian coast very closely during the next couple of days...

I think this thread is about the other wave to the west of the Code Yellow. Not much to talk about there however.
