But in all due seriousness, this is still creating some weather for the islands. Just because its future of being a significant TC is very murky, does not mean that it can be a problem for PR or DR/Haiti.

nice effort but only 57 declares bones and only ortt declares "next" and ortt just declared at least a couple more hours of life for this thing

Yep, I know. Just this storm is being a nuisance just some wishful thinking. Sorry about that.

it would be interesting if bones or next were officially declared and it came back from the dead, if we can get this damn thing to get into a better environment it will have a shot later this weekend

If that latest burst near the center grows big there's going to be some healthy servings of crow to the quitters.

This is last night's GFDL track through the Caribbean happening here.

Enormous comeback in the Gulf potential here.

Erika is no longer walking the rails (LLC) in the Northern part trying to pull a train wagon of convection behind her. She realized that she was to weak and jumped on the locomotive in the Southern convection (MLC) and is trying to re-fire the steam engine. I think she has a chance.

If it does, wxman needs to order up a picture from Star Trek III, when Spock was resurrected on the Genesis planet.

apparently she does not want to die even being under 15kts of mid level shear.. that shows no real signs of subsiding..

but hey at least there is something to do :P

Erika could be around this time next year at this rate. BTW- where exactly does mid level shear come from?

well in this case its a ridge below the 200 MB layer. the ridge is sitting the coast of columbia..

GFS initialized the shear at about 15kt
