Well, the new high for Saturday is 92, so that's better, but there's a 20% chance of rain. Higher chances on Friday night and Saturday night, so I hope their timing is right. As much as I want y'all to get rain, and lots of it, I hope it doesn't come Saturday afternoon. This isn't something that can be postponed and I'd hate to see rain ruin it, so let it POUR, POUR, POUR Saturday night and beyond. :ggreen:

Went out to check the rain gauge ...

Saw a skunk and decided I'd check the gauge tomorrow...

Sorry Shoshana ... we didn't have that "stinky" conclusion here. In fact, someone must have punched a hole in the Travis Country Dome as it did rain for about 20 minutes last night here in SW Austin. I have no idea HOW much it rained ... I would estimate about .25 of an inch ... but anything is better than nothing, I guess.

The start of my son's football game was delayed one hour plus we had another "lightning delay" close to halftime. Crazy night.

eep!

We got .10" from Friday's rain, nothing yesterday but the odor of someone else getting a skunk riled up. I kid you not- we went out, checked for skunks , took the dog out on leash and about a minute after we came in, we started smelling skunk from outside...

I know this is probably OT but I heard/read somewhere that because of the severity of the drought, critters like skunks/possums, etc., are encroaching more on populated areas searching for food.

Forecast is for 90's, no 100s. Wonder if we'll get anymore.....

We are seeing skunks almost every night in our back yard and every night when we walk the dog. This is all new, just in the last 3-4 weeks.

What's next... deer? Coyote? We don't even back up to a greenbelt! Houses on all sides.

As with Lucy pulling the Arctic Outbreak football from me, I remain skeptical until I see such events unfolding. Overcoming a 2-year-plus severe drought is a tall task/signal for the weather. Can it happen? Sure. Will it? Eh. Hope so.

On the plus side, it is showery in AUS this morning and the radar looks promising to our south.

Geez!!! I swear it is either feast or famine in Texas when it comes to rain. We have areas in Houston that are reporting street flooding and other areas that haven't even had a drop.

Yep, sure enough ... the radar over the general AUS metro area is quickly drying up this afternoon. All we saw was some showers early this morning and most of the metro area didn't get much if anything. Some places down near Wimberley saw significant rainfall but it was localized. Depressing. :(

I'm happy for those around central and south Texas who are getting healthy amounts of rainfall. At least somebody is getting help.

Oh my goodness ... we're starting (at 1 pm) to get some heavy rain cells showing up on radar in southern Travis County. I like this trend! :D

Yahoooooooooo!!!!!

I finally got some measurable rain.

A whooping 3 inches of rain fell last night.

Some areas like Kingsville and Sinton had over 6 inches since the wetter pattern set in!
