Yes, we're still all okay. I'm sure that most of us here are trying to finish up our last-minute preparations.

The sky has a very surreal look...weird.

I've met up with Jim Edds in Manila and we're driving around town filming preparations etc. I have mobile internet so sending this message from side of a highway.

Expecting weather to deteriorate after dark, maybe around midnight then the flooding chaos to take place tomorrow during daylight.

Good afternoon guys... I just got back from work and busy informing the people in the office regarding Mirinae's hit in a few hours.

My wife is off to the grocer for now, to stock up... I will try to stay up to ride this one out...

My estimated landfall time would be midnight tonight manila time
and the eye would pass 5-9 am manila time as a Cat 2.

we would have no power by then.

asking for prayers for a city of 15 million.

Good evening to my friends there in Luzon. Based on satellite data, it looks it will pass Manila tomorrow . I expect it will start to rain very hard tomorrow, expect it to be same with Ondoy. So below are my survival tips for years which I have learned and practice in this typhoon battered nation,

Tips #1. Store food, canned goods, all those that can be easily cook without reliance on electricity.
Tips #2. If you have computers near your window, move it in a place it won't get wet (if you can transfer it to a high place, much better), wind can damage windows and parts of your computer can be damage by being wet.
Tips #3. Backup your very important computer files, and keep your extremely important belongings to prepare if a place can be flooded and everything you have work for years will be destroyed. If you can upload it online, do it early now.
Tips #4. Prepare a flash light with batteries.
Tips #5. Move appliances in higher location.
Tips #6. If you can buy life jackets much better. Prepare boards that you can rely if worst can happen --> floods streams. When Ketsana or Ondoy hits Philippines, I see people climbing the roof and roof floats in the wild flood stream, if you fall, you have boards and life jackets with you. Increases your chances of survival.
Tips #7. Stay together- all families and highly important persons to you.
Tips #8. If rain starts heavily, turn off the electricity in your house.
Tips #9. If someone from government ask to evacuate you and your families do it the very early, follow them. And bring your survival kits with you (above).
Tips #10. If you are living in mountains, relocate to a safe place. Landslide is risky.
Tips #11. If you have living in rivers, evacuate now to your friends house or relatives house away from it.
Tips #12. If you are living near coastlines, evacuate now farther from the coast, storm surge is risky.
Tips #13. Prepare medicines, analgesics, cough syrup, cold tablets with you. If someone is very sick , no one can go outside in middle of the storm.
Tips #14. Do not feel relax when the winds and rains stop. This could be the eye of the storm. Another severe destruction shortly after this.

I know this looks like an extreme form of preparation and in no guarantee it will actually fits it to work with you, but If I were you I take this hard preparation than being another unprepared casualty of this repetitive typhoon attacks.

This is all I can help, remember that the rest of us here care so much for your safety (those living in Luzon where this typhoon may pass).
