is it because we are under the core near the eye (if there is still any) or directly under it... based on this sat feed?

Should go right over you within the hour. If it is not any trouble, could you please note when your winds die off, and when they pick up again. As the eye leaves, the winds will come back up really fast so be very careful.

no wind now i think.. im looking at the coconut trees outside, they're not moving. but its raining REALLY REALLY HARD.

ooh. the coconut trees are moving more now... but the wind doesn't seem strong (nowhere near the level of Milenyo)

Wonderful. Thanks for the info. You were definitely in the eye, or what's left of it.

Am I on the other side of the core now?

You are still in the core. Think of the core as a big truck tire. The hub in the middle of the tire is the eye. You went through the first part of the core and the eye, now you have to go through the second part of the core.

Yes, you were in the eye also. Apparently this has a calm center but there are heavy rains in and near it because this storm doesn't have good structure. It is also not a very big eye (only 7-10 miles across) so the calm won't last very long.

Try not to worry my friend. You have at least two hours more of very heavy rain and wind, but the winds are much weaker than they could have been.

Hi guys! No, power hasn't gone out here yet in Manila. I just came from watching PAGASA's press conference on TV. Frustrating, if you'd ask me. Also been monitoring our vicinity, street is already flooded ankle-deep...

im starting to feel better when i saw this sat feed
http://www.goes.noaa.gov/sohemi/sohemil ... scolw.html
it seems that the gab between the bands are getting bigger that might be the reason why the rains stops or weakens and the convection is getting smaller... this is just an observation of a noobie... should we start to breath easy or still hold on guard for the worst?

They were way off. From what ricmood and stormcaster and others here have told me, the eye is passing through and is probably passing just south of you right now. You and oaba09 may not get any of the eye which means your winds will not go calm, just shift from NW to W to SW. IT also appears the "eye" or ceenter of this much weakened storm has rain in parts of it as well.

But from what I can tell they are way off. The eye, or center, has been/is passing around 2-3AM your time or 18-19Z.

Aha! So you're getting the eye too. Enjoy, especially since this storm has really weakened. It's asmall eye, so the calm won't last very long 20-30 minutes maybe.) You still must be careful, but this is much much weaker than forecast.

I think you guys north of Metro are now spared of the winds. It seems like the eye moved SW

Oh. So I guess this would be over soon, since Mirinae seems to be moving at a fast clip? It has already stopped raining here, for now at any rate... Just occasional whistling of the wind.
