Please , everyone in PR and VI, be safe.
Rain here is light. I really think the heaviest convection is south of us. Am I right?
If so, watch out, Gusty!

Our Met Met Office issued this alert:.

After the Northern Leewards, Meteo-France Guadeloupe has issued an yellow alert for a risk of strong showers and tstorms.
:rarrow: http://www.meteo.fr/temps/domtom/antill ... ivi_gd.pdf
Here is the weather forecast concerning this yellow alert since 445 PM

YELLOW ALERT GUADELOUPE
ALERT CODE YELLOW for "STRONG SHOWERS/ THUNDERSTORMS

Synopsis and Latest Observations
The tstorms have developped nicely today on the northern half of the Lesser Antilles, some have brang nice amounts of water, on the BVI, near Antigua and Barbuda, and even in Guadeloupe, 50 to 80 millimiters for example in the locality of Sainte Rose (Guadeloupe)
The persistence of this pretty large area of showers and tstorms on or near our islands during the next 24 hours, could again bring some tstorms and strong showers.

Forecast
Unstable weather, with significants periods of calm especially tonight, then, new developpements of tstorms at the first hours of the day and tommorow. They will be accompanied with some tstorm activity, strong showers and locally persistents, with some wind shifts and gusts near 50 kilometers per hour.

Consequences
Be prudent if you have to move out especially near the tstorms.

Summary
The risk of this feature to occur is very strong.
The impact expected is weak.

Duration of the feature
Right now, and at least tommorow Tuesday.

The good news is that the pace to release warnings has slowed. The bad news is that although things should start to improve from tommorow, the grounds are oversaturated that any light to moderate shower will cause flash floods.

Lightnings lightnings lightnings continue in my location... Some are a bit impressive, especially the last one  ! If this trend continues i won't be surprised by some attempts of power outages during the night. Hope that the things will calm down.

A report from ST Thomas.

http://stormcarib.com/

By "Jane Higgins" <jhigginswear at islands.vi>
Date: Mon, 16 Nov 2009 16:22:27 -0500

Good Afternoon,

I'll try to rush this message in before the next deluge comes up and knocks the power out again.
Our airport terminal had a mud slide thru it and we are guessing that the power company turned off our power out
here in the rain forest so they could use more power in town to clean up the airport. We had a few long flight delays
today.

We had loads of thunder boomers all night and rain west to east, around 4 a.m. it started to rain hard enough to wake
me up to do a window check. By 7:30 a.m. the power was out, and the pool was completely topped off. The rain gauge
(wine bucket) looks like about 8 " plus! just from overnight, so we are in line with what Culebra received. Will
go empty the bucket again for what appears to be the repeat backwash of more coming from the south and east.
The courtyard and surrounding hillside to the north had the mini Niagara falls going and we were able to download
allot of water into the cistern from the pool overfill via generator powering the sump pump. The power outage put
a stop to any office work and the phone line is full of static so even with power back up it creates havoc on the
office machines. Yes, I STILL HAVE DIAL UP....are you laughing now? but at least I know it takes electricity to flush
a toilet around here. How many statesiders get the water and power connection? We are currently working on installing
our second set of 6 solar panels . Our original 2 solar panels run the pool pump and it was a struggle for that
system to work today. Within a month the powerless scenario will all change, can't wait!

The seedling tomatoes got a good hammering, hoping they perk up, and I see strips of blue sky between the
puffy grays here. The bird feeders were full at sun up so the little chirpers were thrilled to fly thru the deluge to
get their sweet fix.

Now at last, enough water to pressure wash the mold that has built up with all this rain, it is a constant cycle. If you
know of any good uses for mold, let me know.

Stay safe, dry , and check those batteries.

Let's wait and see what could happen...

THE TEXAS BIG BEND. UPPER LEVEL SOUTHWESTERLY WIND FLOW COVERS
THE GULF OF MEXICO TO THE NORTHWEST OF THE LINE FROM THE FLORIDA
PANHANDLE TO THE MEXICO COAST GULF COAST NEAR 22N97W. UPPER LEVEL
SOUTHWESTERLY FLOW THAT IS ON THE WESTERN SIDE OF A WESTERN
ATLANTIC OCEAN RIDGE COVERS THE GULF OF MEXICO TO THE EAST OF

COVERS THE REST OF THE CARIBBEAN SEA TO THE WEST OF 75W.
CLOUDS AND PRECIPITATION...THAT ARE RELATED MOST PROBABLY TO THE
ITCZ...ARE TO THE SOUTH OF 11N TO THE WEST OF 74W...INCLUDING
PARTS OF NORTHERN COASTAL COLOMBIA...PANAMA...AND COSTA RICA.
THE DRY UPPER LEVEL ANTICYCLONIC FLOW THAT IS TO THE WEST OF 70W
ALSO IS CONFINING THESE CLOUDS AND PRECIPITATION TO THE
SOUTHWESTERN CORNER OF THE AREA.

THE ATLANTIC OCEAN...
A DEEP LAYER TROUGH EXTENDS FROM A 26N66W CYCLONIC CIRCULATION
CENTER ON WATER VAPOR IMAGERY TO 22N65W BEYOND 18N64W IN THE
NORTHEASTERN CARIBBEAN SEA. THE 1007 MB LOW PRESSURE CENTER
REMNANT OF IDA HAS BEEN MOVING SOUTHWARD SLOWLY BUT SURELY. IT
IS NOW NEAR 27N67W. A SURFACE TROUGH CURVES ALONG 27N66W 22N67W
TO 20N72W AT THE NORTHERN BORDER OF HAITI AND THE DOMINICAN
REPUBLIC. SCATTERED MODERATE TO STRONG SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
COVER THE ATLANTIC OCEAN FROM 17N TO 22N BETWEEN 59W AND 61W.
ISOLATED MODERATE SHOWERS COVER THE REST OF THE ATLANTIC OCEAN
AND THE CARIBBEAN SEA FROM 12N TO 13N BETWEEN 58W AND 66W.

AN EASTERN ATLANTIC OCEAN DEEP LAYER TROUGH PASSES THROUGH
31N22W TO 24N29W 19N34W TO 13N45W. THIS TROUGH SUPPORTS THE
COLD FRONT THAT PASSES THROUGH 32N13W TO 24N20W 20N35W 21N41W.
A STATIONARY FRONT CONTINUES FROM 21N41W TO 25N48W 31N53W.
ISOLATED MODERATE SHOWERS ARE WITHIN 15 NM TO 30 NM ON EITHER
SIDE OF 22N46W 26N49W 29N52W. THE PRECIPITATION THAT IS FROM
12N TO 17N BETWEEN 57W AND 60W TO THE EAST OF THE 26N66W-TO-
EASTERN CARIBBEAN SEA TROUGH MAY BE RELATED TO THE REMNANTS OF
THE 16N46W AN UPPER LEVEL CYCLONIC CIRCULATION CENTER FROM
