Your right. The pecan isn't going anywhere. I'm a BBQ junkie. Pecan IMHO is better than Hickory when it comes to open pit BBQ. All the pecan will be chopped into rounds and split and stacked for future use. Got Ribs? :cheesy:

And now, the rest of the story. A treeman shows up at the house unannounced. I know him from previous jobs around town. He ain't the best......he has crushed a few "things". He shows up in an old Asplundh tree truck. Huge boom. Tells me he'll cut it down for $500 cash. He got his $500 in cash 2 hours later. Then the electric company installed a brand-spanking-new service line from the pole to the house. It was real interesting. I could have set out lawn chairs and charged admission.

Now we move into the next phase......the roof. I increased the patch areas and feathered it in nice. Took care of all the water stain inside.

I took a real close look at shingle condition. After closer examination of the existing roof and the patched areas.....I cannot justify a new roof. I for sure cannot afford metal with the money left.

I still have 2 grand left. I put it in the safe. I'm calling it "cushion cash".

What happened to the other guy that was going to drop the 3 for $750?

Anyway, I'm glad that you got that one tree taken care of and updated service from the electric company.

I don't blame you for keeping "cushion cash".
