Tropical storm Guillermo forms at EPAC

Will it be the first hurricane at the EPAC? Time will tell but it will be a close call because it looks good on pics.

I bet it doesn't. NHC is leaving the possibility open, but already this year, several systems have been forecast to become hurricanes only to have easterly shear come out of nowhere and expose them.

And is anyone else having a hard time imagining this puny system being named Guillermo? I keep flashing back to 1997's Guillermo...one of the strongest EPAC canes ever and a long-tracker...

At least there 'is' a system at this time. We'll see how it looks tomorrow.

Guillermo could briefly become a minimal hurricane, before weakening in colder waters.
