Here's another radar link, local TV station KTEN out of Denison. Not sure what their source is, but it clearly shows the transition line...

EDIT: Use the TrueView Doppler 10

Yes indeed that along with some very in depth talk by the NWS. It makes me a little nervous that they're not planning on extending the winter storm warning south, but that could also change. They didn't seem too confident either with that. I'm finding the heavy snow building down to brownwood as a good sign though.

Yet they issue high wind warnings and a winter storm warning for areas to the nw. If that's not criteria for blizzard conditions, I don't know what is.

This system has kept all the NWS peeps up late, flip flopping models, and more moisture than expected has brought all this craziness about.

With that said still think we'll all see a few inches of snow by this evening, more to the N and W but our fair share here as well.

BTW, found this snow measuring resource on the Topeka, KS NWS office Web site.

Might come in handy for some of us! :D

I really hope so it makes me nervous when they start bringing out the big words in the updates, though. :)

It's back to a mist here, but the temp did drop to 34 it looks like.

Good Morning all. First post for me, but its looks like a good day to join the forum!

I'm @ 3 miles east of I-35 and HW 121, in Carrollton. We're getting a mix of drizzle and some bursts of grainey snow/sleet. Winds have picked up significantly in the last hour.

Snowing in downtown Dallas now. I am 40 stories up though so don't know if it is making it to the ground.

I'm in NE Dallas, just east of the high five. A moderate rain/sleet mix here.

I have some family driving up from south TX right now, they said as soon as the hit Rockdale (SE of Waco) temps dropped to the upper 30's. They're in Hillsboro now starting to get a light mix. It sounds like this could be transitioning farther south than expected.

A heavier band is developing around Cleburne as it moves up it could be our real first sight of actual snow.

The transition line is looking to sweep Tarrant county and moving into western Dallas county. Looks like the real accumulating snow is getting closer.

Intellicast radar presentation is pretty impressive. Virtually the entire state of Oklahoma is covered in some sort of precipitation, 3/4 of it in the frozen variety.

In Texas, snow appears to be on the increase down past Brownwood. And if I'm seeing things right, dry slot concerns seem to be waning - that slot looks to be punching into NE Texas and SW Arkansas at the moment.
