It was snowing a bit earlier, but now it has gone back to a rain/snow mix. Temperatures are dropping off a little bit: It was 37 degrees before and now is 36 degrees. The moisture does look plentiful out there.

Depends on how quick the precip ends. I think it'll start sticking within the next hour, but looking at radar the precip might be winding down in about 2 hours. It's a close call.

system is winding down, little to no accum expected. To much warm air got mixed into the system that the models really didnt pick up on, just another reason to get your hopes up on data models.

Weather Rock out side reported rain/snow, and cold.......thats all folks till next week.....stay tuned

Still coming down hard here in Denton. The clock tower at UNT is about a mile or less from my place and I can't see it or any of the other buildings on campus right now. Grass, cars and roofs are turning white.

My mom talked to my aunt in Brownwood (well, about 10 miles NW of there) at 10 something this morning and they were getting snow. According to radar, it appears to be still snowing there! They still had snow on the ground from the Christmas Eve snow. Lucky!!

Just a cold rain here, as expected.

I would be disappointed, but this winter has been like a winter in Alaska compared to the last few winters, so I'm loving this. And it certainly doesn't look like our last chance for wintry stuff this winter. So i'm going to go out, and enjoy this snow before it's over, and then go back to watching the models constantly.

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORT WORTH TX
319 PM CST TUE DEC 29 2009

.DISCUSSION...
THE ATMOSPHERE TOOK SOME TIME TO SATURATE THIS MORNING AND
AFTERNOON...BUT WE HAVE GRADUALLY WATCHED THE RAIN CHANGE OVER TO
SLEET AND EVENTUALLY SNOW ACROSS MUCH OF NORTH TEXAS. AREAS
GENERALLY ALONG AND SOUTHWEST OF A GAINESVILLE TO CANTON LINE ARE
WITNESSING PERIODS OF WET SNOW AT TIMES MIXED WITH RAIN. SOME
AREAS...MAINLY WEST OF I-35 ARE REPORTING A DUSTING OF NEW SNOW
ACCUMULATION...BUT MUCH OF THE SNOW IS MELTING ON CONTACT WITH THE
GROUND.

TEMPERATURES TONIGHT WILL HOVER IN THE LOW TO MID 30S. RAIN/SNOW
WILL GRADUALLY TAPER OFF FROM WEST TO EAST. DRYING EVIDENT ON
WATER VAPOR SATELLITE NOW SWEEPING INTO THE EASTERN PORTIONS OF
THE SOUTHERN TEXAS PANHANDLE /FROM NEAR CHILDRESS TO SWEETWATER/
INDICATES THE BACK EDGE OF THE SHORTWAVE TROF AND THE END TO THE
PRECIP. WE EXPECT THE BULK OF THE PRECIP TO COME TO AN END BY
MIDNIGHT WEST OF I-35...WITH SOME LINGERING ACTIVITY DURING THE
EARLY MORNING HOURS OVER THE FAR EASTERN COUNTIES. THE WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY WILL BE ALLOWED TO CONTINUE AS IS...BUT MAY NEED
TO BE CANCELLED FOR WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE AREA BY MIDNIGHT.

Wow it's actually starting to stick now a little It's semi-white outside, and on the roofs. Maybe we'll get a little dusting at least.

We have about 1/8 of an inch of accumulation on the grass, roof, and cars.

Oh well - beats nothing!

I think it'll send sooner than that, but we'll see. If it doesn't end till then maybe we get a nice coating,

Yeah the radar looks to be getting drier on the back edge of the storm, but we'll see
