I'm not too familiar with Larry Cosgrove. How reliable is he and where is he getting this info.?

Just an FYI: Front is moving S rapidly at 34kts. Should be into Austin/San Antonio with the hour. Artic Air mass to is heading due S. The RGV and Houston may see the front near the same time.

Very experienced Pro Met of 30+ years. Lives in Sugarland and is an Energy Met. Execellent Long Range forecaster IMHO.

How is that possible? It hasn't passed Dallas yet.

I just posted this on the KHOU Board with the same basic question...

Simple way to think of it is like syrup pouring down the terrain. When the Deeper Air Mass sinks into TX from the Panhandle, it surges down the Permian Basin into the Hill Country and points S. In the RGV the terrain is a bit lower in elevation than points E. Part of the reason we watch areas near Austin and San Antonio here in Houston is because the Air Mass tends to drop off the Escarpment into the Colorado and Brazos River Valley areas and on into Grimes, Austin, Waller, and NW Harris Counties. Very simple explanation.. Hope it helps

No snow here yet, but I imagine it's coming. The street is rather wet, the roads certainly might be a problem.

I don't think DFW is getting snow because I live only a few miles from it and still all liquid.

Very cool! I just went and sat on my front porch and watched the wind go from South at about 5 to North at 20+ in about 2 minutes here in Midlothian. The whole house is shakin during some of the gusts.

Edit: I do see a tiny patch of blue on radar right ontop of the airport though lol.

Could be AWOS issues at Ft Worth Meacham and Denton, but DFW is operator verified.

Looking meticulously on radar and I do see blue in those locations lol very small patches though.

Edit: Few flakes are starting to mix with the drizzle.

Edit 2: All light snow now not a lot but it's coming down.

I have not seen anything but rain so far here in Denton. I would have thought the temps would be dropping faster than they are.
