Thursday: A chance of rain and sleet before 8am, then rain between 8am and 4pm, then a chance of snow after 4pm. High near 41. Southeast wind 5 to 15 mph becoming north northwest. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of snow before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 20. North northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Snowing up there yet Tim?

Ugh. Stupid dry air. Stupid warm air. Our snow is pretty much doomed because it moved in earlier. There is still a narrow window for a dusting or half-inch maybe but I've got a bad feeling.

Report of 3.5" of snow now at Osgood IN. Looking south across a huge quarry lake from the tower cam and it's STILL snowing. Somebody down there take this stuff. Btw there is a road under there someplace.

This system is a very fast mover. Western edge is already approaching western/northwestern Alabama. The models weren't exactly strong with the qpf's either. We forget sometimes that the qpf shown is 6 hours total qpf prior to time shown. In the south it's always about whether or not the cold air can catch up fast enough :(

Snowing again here. It comes in bursts, moderate snow one minute, flurries the next, but this is the best of the day by far.

Keep getting bursts, moderate snow, then flurries, then repeat. Not sticking(and I'm doubting it will unless some extra moisture comes in after dark, storm is moving faster than progged) but pretty to look at.

It is moving faster. but i have a feeling that more precip will develop in NW AL later. it looks like theres a good area of lift around there.

I don't think it was really a bust, not much was really expected or shown on either the Nam or Gfs and the nws was hesitant to put high accumulations. The models have been screaming moisture south and the cold air didn't arrive fast enough. Still all of Jan and Feb possibly March to go. I'd bet this isn't the last chance

Probably nothing (as of right now from the models) as we possibly could go into a thaw period the next week or so. Ridging should take place out west and slowly warm things up a bit. Maybe a surprise or two but nothing is of interest in the short term.

Rub it in Brent, post some pics if you can. I'm getting liquid snow here this afternoon, lots of liquid snow like I get on a summer afternoon.

It wasn't much. Never did accumulate and looks like it just rained. Next! Major bust. Most of the schools are closed tomorrow.

Still a narrow window maybe to scrape together a dusting if we can get some more bands but I doubt it(haven't seen any snow in nearly 2 hours). Storm came in too early and it was too warm.

I don't think it was a bust for North Georgia. They fared better than most everyone else and they always thought moisture would be limited there(the mountains look to have about an inch). The real bust IMO was here in Alabama and especially MS where 2-4 inches was expected around Columbus.

Well it came and went... was nice while it lasted. We were told, by our locat Mets originally, that the snow would arrive around Noon, then it was changed to 5 PM, then last night they said the system was moving very slow and that it would arrive bet. 8 & 10 PM. Well, it arrived around 1 PM. We still have some accumulation... So I'm sure the private roads in our community, which are very hilly and steep (just like a rollercoaster), will not be accessible? So I think we're stuck here.. I'm trying to post a couple of pics, but haven't been successful??? I'll keep trying!
