natural disaster and it's effect on hurricane season

#1 Postby wxgirl69 » Fri Jan 15, 2010 6:39 pm

When the Earthquake/Tsunami hit in December 2004 we had one of the most active hurricane seasons in 2005.
This year, 2010 a major earthquake hit Haiti with massive damage. I wonder if this will have any effect on our 2010 hurricane season..

You are probably right... But, my gut tells me otherwise..I am no scientist by any means.. But, I think when we have a natural disaster whatever it may be.. It will have some kind of effect on the flow of things... Just my opinion!!!!

Like the butterfly effect? maybe, but that's beyond science, hopefully the hurricane season won't bring any system near La Hispaniola, that would be devastating.

Coming off a strong El Nino will lead to active season, IMO.
