Happy Martin Luther King Day. He is one of my three heroes. Amazing what that man and the movement ( was not just him) did. His speeches still bring a tear to my eye and his Letter From a Birmingham Jail is one of the best documents ever produced. Remember, he just had a pen and paper when he composed it.

There are very few people that have been able to change the path of history and he was one of them. We always study in civcs about great men in past history and it's great to see that not long ago lived one of these men.

5 years ago I made a post AGAINST this day in the old political forum and laid out the reasons as to why (it has nothing to do with civil rights... but due to Vietnam protests and the fact that my grand father fought in the war)
Needless to say... I will be heading into the office for a couple of hours tomorrow, as I do every year the 3rd Monday of January

A toast to a man who took his first amendment right and used it to change this country for the better.
