The Odds

#5 Postby wxman57 » Sat Aug 09, 2003 1:49 pm

The odds would probably favor nothing, but I think this system may have close to a 50/50 shot of developing. If it DOES develop, then I wouldn't be surprised to see it reach hurricane strength, possibly Cat 2.

There are opinions of something stronger than a moderate tropical storm with this system and the wind shear could be a lot worse, it isn't too low west of the current location of 91L.

With the apparent motion of the ULL to 91L's west moving more so than others have... the upper level wind shear should tend to decrease, rather than remain the same or increase.
