Between Dublin and Clairette in the Town of Alexander, Tx along 6 and Fm 914 moderate snow is falling and lightly accumulating on cars and some elevated grassy surfaces.

I don't think so...moisture will be further south this time...I am curious about that bullseye south of DFW and north of CLL.
Further south then Denton? I don't want to miss out on this one.....

The 2 snow bands im tracking moving into the metro are from around Comanche to Stephenville to Glen Rose line. And along or just south of I-20 from Eastland to Cresson.

i have not done much looking out of the next 48 hrs since early yesterday however the gfs then was painting us going into a warming trend into next week which i very highly doubt.. at this point gfs is having a very, very hard time even 4,5 days out way it seems with major trends.. i wouldnt be shocked to see another shot of cold air sometime next week.

Since the NWS dropped the ball and never issued any Winter Storm watches, I wouldn't think they would post advisories and warnings up this afternoon. It appears that the heaviest part of this storm should be along and a little south of I-20.

slightly diff opinion here i think the strongest snow bands right around i-20 but also heavy snow either side of 20 by 50-100 miles... this could change we should have a better handle once we get the 18z data in.
edit: i mean i would like to see the 00z data late evening to but i think being this close to the event unfolding less then 24 hrs
18z should tell us plenty...

A part of the polar vortex breaks off and dives into the deep south bringing what appears to be -10 C 850mb temps all the way into North Texas. There's a little precip being produced around the upper low that'll need to be watched.

the Dallas local weather would be a lot more interesting if Pete would go through some of these scenarios and models instead of some generic stuff with a shout out to some elementary school in Azle and then a jab at Hansen (who could probably go away completely).

So you think us "Northplexers" will get in on it still? I realize the heavier stuff might be south but any at this point would be awesome.

We apologize for the inconviences as the board was out but the important thing is that storm2k is running again after a problem in the server was resolved.
