Cancellations are starting to trickle in. As the newscasts are starting to show more and more accidents --- many of them will close or delay.

I'm in Keller - We've probably had close to 3" - only about 1.25 to 1.5" has "stuck" -- some bottom melt with the earlier stuff. Gotta drive to Dallas in an hour - hope it's clear.

You guys nailed this and b/c of you guys, I look like a genius. Not really, I just told her that the smart guys were saying it could be a lot worse.

Im Right near Downtown Fort Worth, and we have close to an inch and a half on the ground, street and side walks are white as well. What a great way to wake up on your 32nd birthday!!!

One questions, why the heck the local mets still not getting on board with the road problems?

I am in Plano, street, sidewalk and lawn are covered and still coming down. Woo hoo. Driving to work is going to officially suck. This is going to be an interesting day.

As usual, plano isd has refused to close as of yet. Snow everywhere now, and the street is covered. Gonna be a fun drive to school this morning...

Yes, my wife teaches at Plano. There has to be a raging blizzard for them to cancel. :D And what a great way to start your b-day dustan, happy birthday. :froze:

Having grown up in Plano, I still hold a grudge with the ISD's weather policy. :grr:

Looks like the rain/sleet line is slowly trudging north. DFW will probably switch over around 9ish, and then back to snow mid-afternoon.

The next heavy snow band from Breckenridge to Stephenville looks impressive...

Wow what a surprise to wake up to this morning. Went outside to get the paper and couldn't find it. It was buried under the sneaux. I'm guessing almost 2" of snow on non-concrete surfaces. And for the kids, there's good news and bad news. Good news, it's sneauxing. Bad news, you'll have to dream about playing in while stuck at school.

Based on radar and reports, doesn't look like the winter storm warnings are in the right areas lol. This is what I was thinking before.

MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 0118
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0651 AM CST THU FEB 11 2010

AREAS AFFECTED...NORTH TX AND EXTREME SRN OK

CONCERNING...HEAVY SNOW

VALID 111251Z - 111645Z

LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW WILL OCCUR ACROSS MUCH OF NORTH TX THIS
MORNING...AT TIMES SNOW RATES WILL APPROACH 1" PER HOUR.

PERSISTENT MODEST LOW LEVEL WARM ADVECTION APPEARS TO BE MOSTLY
RESPONSIBLE FOR LARGE SCALE ASCENT AND MOISTENING ACROSS TX AHEAD OF
UPPER TROUGH. WIDESPREAD SNOW HAS NOW DEVELOPED ACROSS MUCH OF
NORTH TX...MAINLY NORTH OF I-20...WITH A FEW NARROW BANDS OF HEAVY
SNOW EMBEDDED. 12Z SOUNDINGS EXHIBIT PRONOUNCED VEERING PROFILES IN
THE LOWEST 3KM...ESPECIALLY AT FWD WHERE AIRMASS IS SATURATED
THROUGH THE LAYER OF ASCENT WITH PW VALUES APPROACHING .70 INCHES
ALONG SRN PERIPHERY OF SNOW SHIELD. ADDITIONALLY...LAPSE RATES ARE
QUITE STEEP ABOVE 700MB SUGGESTING CONVECTIVE ELEMENTS MAY
CONTRIBUTE TO HEAVIER BURSTS OF SNOW. WITH TIME MODERATE TO HEAVY
SNOW SHOULD SPREAD INTO EXTREME SRN OK BEFORE SHIFTING INTO EAST TX
AS UPPER TROUGH TRANSLATES DOWNSTREAM.

2.5 inches. Not a lot of light yet, but enough for early pictures! I'm near the big airport if you're wondering.
