Cool map, it looks like snow is still forecasted here in Biloxi if I read it right, 1-2" of snow.

The developing low in Western GOM looks impressive. (IMO)

Now it's little or no accumulation at all for Pearl River for tonight and tomorrow. Everytime the models change, so does the forecast. :(

With those kind of numbers, watch for widespread power outages...

When was the last time there was a Winter Storm Warning in Florida???

These mets are making me dizzy.... Baton Rouge went from 1-3 inches tonight + 1 inch tomorrow to "little or no accumulation" to Winter Storm Warning all in 15 minutes... :double:

There was a heavy snow warning(about the same thing) in the Panhandle during the 1993 blizzard.

Mobile County Public Schools will be closed tomorrow. The schools will not open back up until next Wednesday (due to Mardi Gras). I also heard that Baldwin County, Escambia County Florida, and Santa Rosa County Florida schools will also be closed tomorrow.

So why would the updated forecast say little to no accum. but then they turn around and issue a winter storm warning? To me that is like putting up a hurricane warning for a depression about to make landfall.

18z gfs 48hr precip total:

.50" pushing up into N AL and GA.. and with the heavy amts in DFW im thinking this may be a bigger event for us up north than what NWS is calling for.

I think so too... I'm staying conservative on totals but I think that heavy snow in LA/MS will extend further east. This storm looks EXTREMELY robust moisture wise(plus Dallas)

I wonder if Im the only one who thinks the MET ( or pretend met) whatever he is, on our one and only LOCAL channel in Pensacola...is a couple fries short of a happy meal? I just heard him say most of the area now was having RAIN mixed with a LITTLE sleet. Well, Im having SLeet...and NO Rain. Sorry dude...it doesn't fly. He still doesn't think there will be any accumulating snow. Who knows, maybe he's right..*shrug*
