most people i know NOPE had no clue it was going to be like this...
my mom just called me says she has atleast 6". i told her all last week she didnt believe me....

well shes stuck. left truck in downsloping driveway.......LOL i warned her....

There were a couple of models hinting at 6-7"...GEM/ECMWF. Precip water was .73" from the GFS so it was just believing the models.

txagwxman - how do you feel the Fort Worth office handled this event? To only have 1-2 inches forecasted the day before, With majority of the models showing at least 4 inches of snow the night before

I'm sitting at about 8 inches also. Another thing to note, most of this event for areas north of I-20 was pretty much snow from start to tend (minus the sprinkles yesterday).

Indeed we had a brief period of like sleet, and possibly light rain, but I'm not sure, it's been almost all snow though. We might end up at 10 inches here.

The most snow I've seen was back in February of maybe 2002 or 3 I can't remember. It was about 4 or 5 inches then, but it melted within 6 hours. It was an overnight event.

txagwxman, I know this is the texas thread but could you elaborate a little on what is going on in LA. First they changed the forecast to little or no accum through tomorrow, then a little while later expanded winter storm warnings and issued winter advisories all the way south from Houma to New Orleans. What is going on?

Has hell frozen over? I swear that NBC 5 here in Dallas just said that Dallas ISD will be closed tomorrow? Can anyone confirm or deny this?

But look here and no official word?

I can confirm at least, unofficially. WFAA just said on their newscast that Dallas ISD is closed tomorrow.

Looks like rain/snow line south of Corsicana creeping towards Waco.

Well I made it! Around mesquite was by far the worst part of the drive. VERY heavy snow an Sticking to the roads. It wasn't slushy snow either on the roads. Very fluffy. Off to build a snowman!

They were a little too glued to the NAM/GFS and not looking at the ECMWF/UKMET/GEM.
