I love the ice skating, the skiing, the luge. I'm looking forward to this. It'll be a nice respite between football and baseball.

Sounds like there was a very bad crash during luge practice. Being described as "horrific" and "life threatening". :(

He never had a chance. My thoughts and prayers go to his family and the citizens of Georgia. :(

Ron C. Judd said it best in his book on the Winter Olympics:

"Bobsled, luge, and skeleton, the Winter Games' three sliding sports, are all events in which a person, given a bad twist of fate, can die."

A British luge racer was killed during a training run at the 1964 Winter Games in Innsbruck.

NBC already making me angry. Since they are showing ski jumping on TV (on about a 30 minute delay), they aren't showing it online. Now they are going to commercial every 5 minutes like its an NFL game.

So I went online and watched it on a Portuguese stream.

I heard about the luger as I was watching the opening ceremonies last night. I just watched the crash online on CBS. God how awful! I had heard the speed was over 90mph - after watching that, I believe it!

The opening ceremony was amazing! Those "whales" were awesome!

Their entire team should be disqualified, what a sorry display by South korea.

At least it cost them at least 2 medals.

If I was a knee surgeon, I would just follow the moguls competitions where ever they go.
