Lol no way. It's only supposed to get up to what 37, 39?

I was thinking that as well. What are the chances that the forecasted high temps will just be to high with all this snow on the ground?

Truly memorable experience for my children and me. I have about 10 inches on the ground here in Midlothian.

I am grateful to God for the opportunity to see such a beautiful site at my own home here in North Central Texas.

How long do you think this snow will last? Will any of it still be on the ground through Saturday?

A lot of it will melt Saturday. Most of it will be here for tomorrow, though. I'm sure.

Can you believe a Fort Worth NWS employee made a statement today "the last moderate to heavy band will move through the metroplex around 1 pm". Well needless to say, we've had around 4 heavy bands move through since then.

How much have u gotten so far?

Weather channel says DFW has 7.8 as of 7pm still waiting on official word out of DFW. That would break the Feb record of 7.5 and tie the 24 hour record.

Official!

PUBLIC INFORMATION STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORT WORTH TX
705 PM CST THU FEB 11 2010

...SNOW EVENT ONE FOR THE RECORD BOOKS...

AT 7 PM...DFW AIRPORT HAD RECORDED 7.9 INCHES OF SNOW TODAY. THIS
BREAKS THE PREVIOUS DAILY RECORD FOR FEBRUARY 11 OF 1.4 INCHES SET
IN 1988. THIS ALSO BREAKS THE PREVIOUS 24-HOUR RECORD FOR
FEBRUARY...7.5 INCHES ON FEBRUARY 17, 1978 AND FEBRUARY 25, 1924.

THIS IS THE GREATEST CALENDAR-DAY SNOWFALL TOTAL ON RECORD FOR
DALLAS/FORT WORTH. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 7.8 INCHES ON JANUARY 15,

THIS BRINGS THE SEASONAL SNOWFALL TOTAL TO 11.1 INCHES...WHICH IS
THE 4TH HIGHEST SEASONAL TOTAL ON RECORD FOR DALLAS/FORT WORTH. THIS
IS THE SNOWIEST WINTER IN 32 SEASONS (SINCE 1977-1978).

I don't think a few snow storms out of the ordinary debunk global warming. Its about long term trends.

I'm not a complete believer in global warming, but I'm not a skeptic either and I'd tend to think its likely that the planet is warming.

I expected some areas around the metro (typical suburbs) to have such high amounts but no means did I expect it to be so for the record books at DFW airport. It's so tough to get high accumulation measurements there. I bet it will be above 8 inches by the 8pm update.

I don't doubt the earth warms and cools, but I don't think we can cause it. If so who warmed the earth to end the ice age when no humans were around?

And to think our close and dear friend Mr. GFS nailed this storm 7 days ago

I am not a complete skeptic either...CO2 is increasing with time and does add some warming. But questions remain how much....doubling CO2 from here adds about 1-2 watts/m^2 of warming.
