And here's a snippet from NWSFO Austin/San Antonio that is simply mind-numbing:

A WEAK COLD FRONT WILL SAG INTO THE REGION ON SUNDAY.

Every other NWSFO in Texas refers to Sunday's front as "strong" and indicate that it will move rather forcefully. My local "experts" call it wimpy, wimpy, wimpy!

Looks like you're not the only one feeling the heat (no pun intended). They too are weary!

As for Wxman's comment, maybe higher snowfall ratios will get us there!

Yeah, for sure, looking ahead at next Sunday-Tuesday looks real nice. We need to switch our focus onto this pretty soon, if not today. For all you people I disagree with get ready ! For all you bikers, or gardeners or summer lovers or whatever you are sorry. This new trend looks very intresting to say the least. We got this event right! We nailed it, so we need to start looking into this next winter storm pretty quickly and keep up our reputation!

Yes, it shows another significant West Gulf low developing next Fri/Sat with even COLDER weather across Texas aloft. This means that moisture would be more limited in the colder air up north in Dallas, but you could get that extra few inches to break the seasonal record.

*tries to look away and ignore but can't*

I know it's still a long ways out, but from what the models are currently saying, would we have a better shot at snow down here than we did the past few days?

I'm hopeless.

I live around the Keller/Southlake/North Richland Hills line. According to the NWS Keller got 13.5, we got 13.2, so Very close.

Arctic outbreaks late in February and into March are not good for my landscaping -- and note that the Bluebonnets should start germinating within a few weeks....

Porta, Dr Lucy Van Pelt is really impressed by your therapy. Your addiction to the GFS was strong grasshopper. You will pull through this.

0z GFS comes out around 9:30 and completes about an hour after, the other global models come out about 1-2 hours after.

Does anybody have a link to those maps to the 200+ hour GFS map. All I can come up with is a 84h loop.

Actually Vancouver hardly ever has lingering snow cover. They get about as much snow as the Seattle area which similar to Amarillo a year. The Pacific ocean gives it a maritime-like influence. All of the snow events are held in the mountains outside of the city on Whistler and Cypress ski resorts.

I think this is what making Austin a haven for out of staters lately, too far south for snow and tornadoes, too far inland for hurricanes. At least I was able to go out and get alot of stuff done today on my day off. Cool with some late day sun felt pretty good as a consolation I guess. I was able to venture up north during new years to get some of the Dallas snow then. If Dallas can become a nice little snow vacation, then its not that far for a weekend trip.. Hmmm

Today is not my day...Atlanta got snow...more snow for them on Monday. More snow Tenn/N. Miss/Alabama Sunday night.

18z GFS now trying to go El Nino pattern in the far back, with block retrograding over Western Canada. I don't want that yet.
