This is a dumb argument, leave the work to the professionals. Don't like how they run things? Go get yourself a met degree and start your own hurricane center. They're professionals, not idiots.

Wow, what is it with people at this forum? I simply found it interesting and decided to make a basic observation. My intention was not to criticize anyone, and I'm completely dumbfounded as to how anyone came to that conclusion.

You're putting WAYYYYYY too much thought into it. Some storms take longer due to different factors, thats it. Theres nothing more to it. More technology = more factors. Felicia was one of the more interesting EPAC storms of the year, they're gonna take time. And I'm sure you'd agree that you'd want a full, detailed, well thought out TCR then a rushed one.

What about Felicia? How is that relevant to the conversation? I asked about the 1998 season; there was no Felicia then.

Well, what about Agatha 1998, whose TCR was issued 10 days later?
You asked why it was taking so long and then gave examples of quick releases, all of which were tropical storms or weaker that stayed away from land. Of course its gonna be a quick release, theres not much to look at.

Hadn't been to this forum in a month or so and saw this discussion. I do know a number of the NHC personnel who make up the TCRs. I think that the TCRs are not always the highest priority task. This is particularly true for weaker storms or storms that did not impact land. A lot depends upon who is tasked with putting the TCR report together and what else he has "on his plate". The forecasters are also busy with research, writing papers, preparing presentations for various conferences, etc. Sometimes the TCR isn't the highest priority task for that forecaster (or group of forecasters) due to other deadlines that must be met.
