Florida Governor's is May 23-28:
http://www.flghc.org/

But THE most important hurricane conference of the coming spring is American Meteorological Society's 29th Conference on Hurricanes and Tropical Meteorology. It's scheduled for May 10-14 in Tucson, AZ.

http://www.ametsoc.org/MEET/fainst/2010 ... canes.html

This is THE BIG hurricane conference of 2010. It's held only once every 2 years. Tropical Meteorologists from around the world attend this event. My coworker and I submitted abstracts for presentations there.

Thank you 57 for posting those two conference dates.I think the list (At first post of thread) now has all the conferences unless there is one that may be left.

Jan 25-29 (over): 42nd WMO/ESCAP Typhoon Committee meeting, Singapore

The meeting ended today so we should be getting 2008's retired names soon. Wonder if Jangmi will be retired.

Wow,time is flying and the start of our storm2k Atlantic season poll is around the corner (March 1) so start thinking about how the 2010 season will be in terms of the numbers.Lets see if this 2010 poll breaks the all time highest participation of 189 members in the 2008 one.

Anyone knows if JB has said something this early about the upcomming season?

I'll be attending. No presentation this year, and no booth in the exhibit hall. Just listening on Wed/Thu. I see that Dr. Gray and Dr. Klotzbach are presenting their 2010 outlook on Wednesday vs. the last presentation on Friday. That's good, as most people leave for home after Thursday's session closes.

My abstract has been accepted for an oral presentation at the 29th Conference on Hurricanes and Tropical Meteorology in Tucson, AZ this May. That conference is held every 2 years. Just about every major TC group attends.

Wow so its thats time already, the countdown begins!

I'm expecting a slow start but a big ramp up for the meat of the season, esp if El nino dies a death.

:uarrow: Three of the analog years he mentioned are the same that I used to make my forecast for this season, and his numbers are very similar to my preliminary numbers, let's see if it verifies.
