For who?

Right now the northern half of Texas. Big cut off low, possibly with wind driven snow. Oklahoma and panhandle would get blasted first.

I have to admit guys --- I have never seen a winter like this here in the southern DFW area..... not by a long shot. Not necessarilly brutal cold -- but the winter precip events - with so many being snow instead of ice.

May be a bit pre mature, but the band of precip south of Lubbock looks to be strengthening a bit. WE DESPERATELY need that to happen if we are going to make this into a significant event

Snow has definitely been the theme this year. Guess that means we didn't get many true arctic invasions since those air masses are usually shallow. Just to show you don't need mighty cold air to have winter, just if the pattern (blocking) is right, recycled Canadian polar air works just fine.

I wouldnt hold my breath.. I think its getting ready to switch over to spring here rather quickly.. i think that next system will be just about it for most of texas... And I do not think it will impact southeast texas at all.. that system will probably be a north texas threat.. still a long ways off though..

:uarrow: Based on 12z ECMWF, mets correct me if I'm wrong, while the snow threat is in northern Texas, the 0c line is down to the coast while 540 thickness is well north. Could that possibly spell ice trouble for central and parts of s\e Texas on Monday?

Yes most likely. Looks significant too. Still VERY far out though

Still coming down pretty good here in South Austin east of Ben White/I-35. The changeover took a little longer here. Don't know if we'll get an inch or not. Its trying to train but its moving off to the east too fast. Very pretty though for the last hour or so.

Then San Angelo NWS says that the area to the west is the last batch. I wish it would slow down some and fill in.

Latest model info has that band breaking up on the southern end as it approaches I-35. Can still hope though.

what about that band forming south of Lubbock? also, i think the area between Brownwood and San Angelo may fill in with light snow, at least appears to be doing so.

With this winter, never say never. Who would of thought that the Houston area would even be considered in this snow event as late as February 23? It so goes against climo, but here we are.

Band from Stephenville to Coriscana looks Heavy, with moderate to heavy snow just on the backside, and light snow back building/expanding even behind that.
