According to the SNET (Salvadoran oceanic service) a variation of 1 meter can be experienced in the seas of our coasts at 9:30 am (that's in about 1 hour and 15 minutes).

They said it's a 3 meter wave which equals just under 10 feet for those of us that don't use the metric system.

Don't tsunamis actually grow as they move through the ocean?

I hope this turns out to be nothing like Haiti, and that any tsunamis generated that have not impacted land yet are tiny. Hawaii's impact will be quite interesting to follow, and hopefully their waves are less than a foot, though I have a feeling it'll be a lot bigger than that

To an extent, but just like hurricanes they can dissipate energy too. The tsunamis that hit Africa in 2004 were far less damaging than those that hit India and Thailand.
