Yeah, probably 24/7 coverage of the events too obscure for NBC, MSNBC, or CNBC.... with a local weather scroll along the bottom.

I'd have said Dave Schwartz was too popular to get rid of, but really....Jim Cantore IS the Weather Channel. He's their moneymaker, no way they'd get rid of him IMO.

It wouldn't surprise me to see them start covering red-carpet events. They ceased to be about public safety a long time ago. Understandable, they want make money, but I'm sick of both them and TV guide channel, doing someone other than what got them their spot on the cable and/or satellite lineup to begin with. Call and complain to your cable company - ask them to provide REAL weather coverage, and REAL channel schedules (with more than two lines showing). You can watch movies on dozens of other channels!

I wonder if someone with vision will start another weather channel that adheres to the channel formerly known as The Weather Channel. It just hurts to see them flush it down the toilet like this.

I have to give TWC credit for doing what they are supposed to do and that is show all of what is going on in todays outbreak and that is what they are doing.Tremendous shots of tornadoes have been shown and Cantore is nonstop reporting in the studio while Dr Forbes and Bettes are in vortex2.

The only reason they are covering it is because of V2 in my opinion.

Well, that and they don't have a movie/storm stories/ICHT scheduled.

Early in the outbreak I was unimpressed with TWC's coverage as they kept having to cut to commercial breaks and then spent alot of time on air seemingly unsure of who was available to talk and who wasn't, constantly pressured by time constraints....once they cut out the commercials their coverage became the best on the air.

In my opinion, TWC lost a lot of credibility when they did whatever they did with NBC....Wake up with Al....If I wanted to wake up with Al, I'd tune in to the Today Show. And if I wanted national news, I'd tune in to FOX. TWC is supposed to be a weather channel, not a news channel.
TWC has gone downhill in the last year. I rarely watch them anymore. We get better weather on the local tv station. They are always breaking in when severe weather is in the area.
