Re: SE TX/SW LA weather: We need rain!
No rain for the entire week and the long range GFS is not promising at all. Welcome back drought.
Currently in the low 90's across south LA, won't be long til we're well into the 90's given the dry grounds and we're still weeks away from the typical start of our "rainy season" (seabreeze driven storms).

Well IAH hit 91 today. First time we have seen the 90 degree mark "officially" since October 15, 2009 when we reached 92. Is the Cactus Forum up and running?

Uhhhh, anybody giving out rain dance lessons? Dad just said that April was the driest month ever recorded for our area. What happened to April showers?

That front/boundry just came through here and the wind is gusting pretty good. I have been out of it a bit so I had no idea a little "front" was coming through. Anyway, some showers to the north but I'm not holding my breath for anything.
Altho...since I ran the sprinklers today, does that make my lawn a rain magnet overnight?

Looks like my cans of RAID did not kill the cockroach ridge.

Yeah, it always seems to work that way. Then we'll get way too much while others are needing it.

Re: SE TX/SW LA weather: We need rain!
Much to my excitement this morning, I walked out on my patio to the lovely sight of heavy cloud cover so dark and dismal that thoughts of wonderful rain showers simply could not be erased from my every thought as I sat there with my morning glass of tea. The anticipation of much needed rain could only be supported by turning on the sprinklers (a previously guarranteed method of inducing rain). I watched, waited, moved the sprinklers from the garden to the orchard and anxiously checked the cloud cover most of the morning. Much to my dissappointment the only precipitation was that coming from my water well. Oh well, it seems we missed out AGAIN. It did hold down the temps for a good while so yard work was comfortable. Yes, I'm trying to find something positive in all this. LOL

It's becoming a weekly ritual for me to soak my lawn. The vegetation around here is drying-out very quickly and we need rain soon!

If we miss out on the rain chances this coming weekend this "moderate drought" we're now in will likely become severe next week. Things are REALLY drying out! Please rain return!
