Re: SE TX/SW LA weather: We need rain!
Radar shows returns to our immediate West increasing in intensity again. They are still light to moderate in nature, but I will be watching for sure since this is so slow moving. We've gotten over an inch here at the house which is welcome, to say the least. I was just out in this and it wasn't too bad, but some streets are starting to pond water, which isn't unusual here. If it intensifies again I will start to worry.

I'm more worried about the band coming in from San Angelo/ Sonora. What's powering these storms during the nighttime hours anyway?
The creek here is full up and doesn't go down quickly. I hope there's enough leeway by the time the rain in west TX gets here. The nearest gauge shows we got 2.5 inches which translated to an 8-foot rise in Langham Creek, and it's still rising with the runoff from upstream.

Re: SE TX/SW LA weather: We need rain!
We ended up with 2.05" of rain last night and it has started raining here again. That is 3x the amount of rain we had last month and the heaviest one day rainfall in months.
Hopefully today will not compare to last night.

We got over 3" by the time I went to bed after midnight. Langham Creek was within an inch of overtopping at about 8:30 last night. It's only dropped a couple feet with the next wave coming in this morning. With a creek rise of 8 feet with 2.5 inches of rain, it doesn't bode well for staying in bank today.
Looking at the radar now, I'm hoping the stronger storms stay south of us. Is it too much to hope?

Re: SE TX/SW LA weather: We need rain!
Dumped almost 4 inches out of the old rain bucket this morning. Appears the heaviest rainfall will stay to our S and W with the current MCS. The worrisome problem is that guidance suggests this pattern may well be around for the next 2-3 days. Cactus Forum in now closed!

After the rains ended overnight, I was hoping it would have enough time to dry out so that this afternoon's plans weren't toast, but it's been pouring/storming again this morning. Ah well.... hard to complain when you need the rain. I just wish it had waited until tonight and tomorrow, but the weather never listens to me.

We finally got some rain this morning but could use alot more. The sun is out now and it's very humid so hopefully that will be enough to spark off more storms.

We're sending this MCS sitting on top of us your way. We have been having a steady rain all day. It is a slow mover so it may not get there till late tonight.

Southern part of the parish isn't getting any rain. Storms are developing in the northern part though. Cajun baseball starts in 45 minutes. As much as i'd like the rain if it could hold off to around 9pm that'd be great! If it starts raining at least our seats are under what we call the overhang and we might be protected.
