What has been happening to me (LaPlaceFF)
I am not sure if everyone on here knows what I have been doing the past few months. I have been battling Hodgkin's lymphomia. with chemotherapy that I have been taking, I am doing well. In June I will be at the Mayo Clinic getting a stem cell transplant. Right now I am feeling well and I am strong. Thanks to everyone for their support and prayers.

Best wishes LaPlace, and thanks for letting us know of your special circumstances. I'm glad to read you're tolerating the chemotherapy well. The Mayo Clinic has a great reputation too. Are you going to their one in Florida?
I will definitely keep you in my thoughts these next weeks, and hope you will give us updates should you wish.

The Jacksonville Mayo St. Luke Hospital is well known of course. Wonderful that you may stay in Florida. When you're ready, that sunlight should help further boost your immunity through Vitamin D. Perhaps you might like to read this, if you haven't seen it as yet (pertains to the adult section too):

If you give a Storm2K site administrator your hospital information, we could send a card or too. My best to you,

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I do have an encouraging story for you..... I have a friend who had a run in with Hodgkins about 20 years ago....and he has been fine ever since! We were in our 20's at the time and now are both happily(?)

I, too, have a friend who survived a battle with H.L. around 1982-85. He had 2 bone marrow transplants and radiation, recovered from severe complications of radiation (fungal infection in his lungs). And that was nearly 30 years ago, treatments have improved so much!

Just to give everyone an update........My body was not making the stem cells needed for a transplant so they looked to my brothers and sister as a stem cell donor. Fortunately my oldest brother is a match for me. We will be going to Jacksonville in mid September to try the transplant again. Between now and then I am doing 2 rounds of chemo. Besides the nauseoness of the chemo i am doing well. Thanks to everone here for your support and prayers.
