Finally, some west component again between fixes. About a 330° heading at 9 knots, between fixes.

It is still heading way more N than anything though...and it is possible the bump west was just a wobble due to the convection developing explosively.

Also don't forget that each pass through the chances of them hitting the exact center is remote. So each "center" fix they are just sampling a point with in the general center.

The absolute center is the wind shift observed by recon, and yes that may be embedded in a larger "overall" center or gyre, but I would deduce that the true motion of the storm is indeed NNW, with wobbles here and there.

It isn't 75% but I don't know and can't find the reduction at 850 mb

Got it!

Next was the reduction of Flight Level Winds:

1000 mb flight level = 80%

925 mb flight level = 75%

850 mb flight level = 80%

700 mb flight level = 90%
