This is the best looking tropical storm I've seen.

I would say this is one of the best I've seen, but it doesn't look better than Fay over Florida.

Great satellite pic, Comanche. Really shows how large a system Bret is, despite being only a TS at this point.

Bret was a major hurricane that struck south Texas in 1999. Fortunately it hit Kennedy County, an area with very few residents, and it was a pretty small storm.

The next name on this year's list is Bonnie

New Intermed advisory is out. No surprises, except to say that Alex is really moving now compared to yesterday.

You're right, of course. I was thinking of Bret and its landfall in Kenedy county (TX). Bret (1999) was a small storm, and landfall in that county spared Brownsville and Corpus Christi. I think Kingsville may have gotten some nasty weather, though.

Anyway, it's a great satellite pic that shows how large Alex really is.

RECON should be leaving about now. 57 HBOD * 10 min = 570 mins / 60 mins = 9½ hours

We sometimes need the images for questions we have.

He is saying only in the quotes, not the original message.

Yes, thank you. We don't need to see the same satellite still posted 4 times on the same page ;-)

What exactly do you mean by "game on"? It appears that any intensification will be modest.
