At this rate we will go through the whole of June without anything, clearly the season is nearly over already...

Even the EPAC has some storms. This season sucks

Wow hard to believe that even in that incredibly active 2005 season, there were so many season cancel posts especially considering Dean and Emily were majors in July.

It's highly unlikely that we'll see the same results in 2010, I mean storm wise. By this time, 2005 already had a storm and we will likely not see much activity for the next 7-10 days. There is a good chance that June 2010 will end up storm free as of right now. The Atlantic is a ticking time bomb however and any ignition would set it off. The waters can only get so warm and shear can only be so high.

With La Nina on its way, things should change rapidly by July.

People were saying 2005 was boring on 20th August...after at the time two very strong cat-4s (of course Emily was actually a 5!)

Of course we all know what came just 5-10 days later don't we...

I go out of town for almost two weeks, and all we get here is some fizzled waves? Man, let's just close up shop now and come back next year

Cor Alex has a central pressure of 950mbs...and it only has wind of 85kts!

Man whats going to be needed for a decent hurricane, 900mbs or something, Alex is rubbish!

Season most certainly cancelled!

Alex represents everything: a wave, an invest a td, a ts a hurricane and almost a major hurricane. Was weak, strong, organized, strength , disorganized. Got shear, dry air, was over land, was degraded, then upgraded. Was visited several times by the hurricane hunters, kept the models guessing, was ugly at the beginning but then was a beautiful creation. Made damage, flood and surge. Kept some people asleep, others with great expectation... well, do we really need another system? :ggreen: Nah.. with Alex, as we say here, is time to close the door and throw away the key. :spam:
