Re: ATL: TROPICAL STORM ALEX - DISCUSSION
it's surprising that Alex's circulation is holding together so well with all of the mountains in it's path.

While texans can be thankful Brownsville did not take a direct hit, don´t forget that our mexican neighbors are having a rough time of it.

Re: ATL: TROPICAL STORM ALEX - DISCUSSION
Observations don't suggest any TS force winds around the center any longer. It should be close to being torn apart by the mountains. Next advisory will be the last.

Yeah, still it did a decent job staying strong that far inland, not all that surprising given it was strengthening quite decently into landfall and when that happens you tend to find they do well a certain distance inland...
Goodbye Alex, you certainly one hell of a first storm, possibly the most noteable A storm since Andrew?

We finally got about a 1/4 inch at my house--but I feel like the rain has been skirting around my house for a couple days! Can't really complain because at least its moisture, but we needed more. Forecast still calls for about an 80% chance tomorrow so I'm hoping we get some good rain tomorrow.

Re: ATL: TROPICAL STORM ALEX - DISCUSSION
Alex was a good wave machine for S. Texas, and his circulation was so big that we might have a decent ground swell for a couple more days.
I feel for Mexico. I just got back a few months ago and the poor people are still with me in thought and I can't imagine going through a storm
without proper shelter.

I think Houston won't soon forget 2001's Allison.

Re: ATL: TROPICAL STORM ALEX - DISCUSSION
looks like the low level center is lagging behind the mid-level curculation that is heading SW. Probably just be a bunch of clouds that makes it to the Pac.

We'll have to see the final numbers. But there is a chance we won't.

Apparently there is some flooding in H-Town already. Heard from a few people who couldn't get to/from work. Yet, out my way just 1/4 of an inch came a sprinkle at a time. Hoping for a good rain tomorrow to do away with fire dangers (and water my grass!) for the 4th of July weekend. Everything has been so dry! Of course, I can't say that too loudly...wouldn't want Bonnie to think I want her to pay a visit.

Rachel...we've had a good rain off and on all day. I'm sure the mosquitoes are loving it.
