Re: The Official 2010 Season Cancel Thread (another dead invest)
This West Pac season has been rubbish...I'm moving back to the States. Seems like more action going on there, lately...

Re: The Official 2010 Season Cancel Thread (another dead invest)
This is it for me about the 2010 season being very active after the fiasco that another invest (96L) was, only to turn into a wimpy TD? Is like a 2009 redux.

I know, couldn't even get a tropical storm out of it, I mean what a pointless storm, who cares about all the flooding really?!

I think its more irony and sarcasm then comedy really,I think we all know seriously what is possible this season...
I think this thread is a good way at not becoming so uptight at what could happen this season, you know the saying if ya don't laugh you'll cry.

Can we declare 91C the mascot for this season?

Sounds good to me because 91C will probably resemble most of the rest of the storms this season.

Yes, IMO a little to early to call it a dead season. In the year above, it sucked. I had to board up my house 4 times! That sucks. (but after that year I got high-teck shutters so at least something came out of it.) 3 trees fell on my house that year and my roof nearly got torn off once. It cost me about $75,000 that year and I was lucky unlike some other Floridians who got there house completely lost. Im hoping that they will all be beautiful fish storms for us to watch this year, but that's like asking for 1mil to fall out of the sky. Maybe if they stay away from the gulf coast at least, we have enough problems out there in the gulf. A little wake up call for the Northerners would maybe be good for them. nothing severe of course, just a little something. my snow-bird neighbors always tell me they wont get hit up there and they never have.....im sure others up there think that too. not that others around the south don't think that, they do. (And Oh how it annoys me.) As governor Crist said, " 1 year with out a hurricane strike and people think there invincible."

Frances was pretty wild, the most severe storm I've encountered yet since living in Florida (I know, it was nothing for us here on the West Coast vs. the East Coast, but it had the effects of a low Cat 1 where I live right on the beach).
Jeanne was amazing for the sheer size of it. It rained for like 4 days straight as it slowly, painfully, made its way through. I can't remember a longer stint of cloudiness/rain in the Sunshine State! -though this past 4th of July weekend nearly topped it! it was cloudy/rainy from Friday through Monday night.

This is going to be anything but a dead season. Even last year, where everything was highly unfavorable, we got a couple of majors and 9 systems (yeah they were generally pathetic but they were still able to form). This year the exact opposite will be occurring plus we have a la nina in our favor and record high SST's. Believe me by early September, people are going to wish for things to come down because there will be so much activity, it will be hard to focus on one particular system.

Storms are all lining up to go Mexico and south this year. Dead season for US threat, oil will stop any hurricanes from forming in Gulf, thank BP.
