That new SW'rly diving African Wave looks interesting. It is diving SW from the African coast, which will give it a chance to get low lat off the coast and use that suicide wave mentioned to kickoff this post's moisture and move forward.....maybe it will not POOF like the other one with the SW dive....not to mention a nice circulation.....the tropics are certainly cookin...

Well the SAL isn't quite as potent recently coming off Africa as it has been and this latest outbreak isn't as strong. I think by early-mid August waves like the one that just emerged would be real contenders.
Nice convective burst along the ITCZ emerging from Africa right now, and the wave behind will only help to reduce the SAL yet further.

Still got an awful lot of SAL to its north which won't be going anywhere too quickly. Still these waves will help to moisten the airflow over and over again till it eases off.

A TROPICAL WAVE APPROACHING THE LEEWARD ISLANDS CONTINUES TO PRODUCE
DISORGANIZED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. HOWEVER...SURFACE
PRESSURES REMAIN HIGH...AND ANY DEVELOPMENT OF THIS SYSTEM WILL BE
SLOW TO OCCUR AS IT MOVES WEST-NORTHWESTWARD AT ABOUT 15 MPH.
THERE IS A LOW CHANCE...10 PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM BECOMING A
TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS. REGARDLESS OF
DEVELOPMENT...GUSTY WINDS AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL ASSOCIATED
WITH THIS SYSTEM COULD AFFECT THE LEEWARD ISLANDS...THE VIRGIN
ISLANDS...PUERTO RICO...THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC...HAITI...AND THE
TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.
ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS

Sorry, but this will not go yellow at 2:00, if it goes yellow at all.
I think we all know what happens to these waves once they roll off the coast of Africa.

I agree, and you can already see that the SAL is having this wave for lunch, must be hungry.

This African wave will likely go directly to code orange or red sometime today, I would guess.

Impressive twave on Africa, has gained in size today compared to yesterday but convection remains fairly concentrated, something to keep an eye for sure during the next 72H...
