Blob at 30w (Is invest 90L)

Since this is not the wave in Cycloneye's thread "Wave emerging off Africa" it should be discussed separately.

This has not been identified as a wave on the surface map so I will call it a blob for now.

Extremely cold cloud tops and ASCAT is indicating a low pressure area forming...

Some Intense thunderstorms with this , we will see if the models pick up on this area.

Someone posted earlier that the reason why this area is sustaining itself is because its still attached to the ITCZ. Lets see if it fizzles or starts to gain latitude in the next few days.

If this "blob" stays together and gains some latitude, we may see some cyclonic turning. It is deprived of the Coriolis effect at its current low latitude.

It's too far south right now to indicate anything more than it being just part of the ITCZ. Very few storms ever develop south of 10N (Ivan strongly comes to mind), but several do break out of the ITCZ and develop. There is a lot of activity so something can happen. The wave east of the Leewards has a better shot of doing something than this blob. That ones really popping tonight.

They could be trying to save their energy for the times ahead.Maybe in the beginning of the season they just wanted to show off there percentages. :D

Not sure why this is being ignored, its held the same presentation, if this was in the Gulf we'd have probably had recon into it by now!
