Wave in Central Caribbean

Why not put the date the wave emerged from Africa in the thread title?

It would be nice to have a better way to keep a track on these waves throughout the season. We know some people already do this and maybe we could use the same or similar designation to include the starting date for each wave.

What is a wave that became popcorn. What is popcorn that can become a wave.

Is there a way to define the topic title better so we know what we are looking at?

It's confusing and I'm sailing a boat around the lesser Antilles and we are vulnerable sailing around here. It's a calculated risk and it would be much more simple if I knew what wave you/we are talking about.

I think you want something like this:

Wave at 15W, Models hint at development.

Wave at 31W

Wave at 50W

Then the titles modify as the waves moves westward.

I think we should put the longitude of each wave in the title, the date it leaves Africa really tells you nothing about which one we are tracking and we really don't need the latitude. Of course this would need a once a day update, but at least we are keeping it organized.

BTW, give this wave another couple days. I think it's convection gradually grows.

I think they should name the titles like "African Wave #1" and "African Wave #2" in a sequence as each wave emerges. Kind of like how NHC numbers storms that are Code Yellow, Orange, or Red.

Best to perhaps post the place the wave is FORECAST to go, not exactly where it is.


For instance, say Tropical Wave at 40w, Moving towards Eastern Caribbean.


That would knock out the need to constantly update. You'd only have to update occasionally then

A least NHC should mention this wave as they have done with past ones to warn for heavy rains and gusty winds for the areas affected but no mention on the 8 AM TWO.

Nice increase in convection this morning as was expected... only problem is its a fairly linear structure which typically does not bode well for development.. should still be interesting to watch ..

Im sure your local NWS office will handle the local effects of this feature.
