Family vacation is over, and well it was wonderful....I NEEDED IT! :D :D :D Two weeks away from the misery and sometimes joyous events of life and what goes on around them. My brother and I returned today, and my mom and step-dad are coming back tomorrow.

I had a nice surprise when I read my emails............there was a Student Satellite launch on Fri Aug 8th at 0530......I really did not know about this! Um, Hello....I'm apart of the group also  Read the article I posted. Needless to say, the report will be interesting reading material!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone :D

OMILORDY!! Christmas shopping??? I sure do admire your ability to think ahead!! I will be one of those last minute wonders, just like every other year!
Bron, "your little bump", how cute!! Do twins run in your family at all? My sister is trying to get pregnant and we have always though that we didnt have twins in our family, but we phoned my aunt one day and found out there are 4 sets of twins in our rather immediate family!! My sister wants twins real bad! So, we still have hope!
Ticka, thanks for the cookies!! I love the porch and I am glad to see it being visited a little more!

To everyone...........have a GREAT Saturday and stay safe!!

Good Morning!

And a fine one at that.....a cool 54° with a slight breeze makes it *almost* feel like early autumn. No rain yesterday just lotsa thunderheads and noise, lotsa CG strokes, LOUD thunder and "Phhhft!" no rain.

POJO :o Glad to have you back......sounds like the vacation was wonderful

Speaking of vacations, I can't WAIT for ours.......only 2 more months *sigh*, I am getting so burned out. We are making our yearly trek to Santa Fe, Taos and Albq. New Mexico the 8th of Oct thru the 12th 8-) WooooHooooo, there's NUTHIN like northern NM in the fall, best apples on the planet are ripe, trees are changing colors and the HOT CHILIES are ready :o

My....the porch HAS been quite but with summer in full swing, vacations etc, I understand.....as for myself, I've been remiss in visiting, really don't have an excuse 8-) Well......I'm still not 100% just yet, I hope and pray that no one here gets this virual pneumonia, it's "NASTY" to say the least, I seriously thought there was something really wrong with me.....I was severly depressed, didn't care about anything, wanted to sleep all the time, didn't care if the sun came up or not and YES.......I even lost interest in GOLFING :o THAT'S how bad it was "LOL!" For me not to care about golf................

A BUSY weekend on tap here on the mountain, the 21st Annual White Mountain Sheriffs Posse BBQ...the 15th Annual BlueGrass Festival (there are some BIG names gonna be there this year) and with it being HOTTER THAN HADES in Phoenix, Tucson......this mountain top is gonna ROCK today and tomorrow!

That's all for me.......have a GREAT weekend would ya?

Bron - I can't imagine you FAT! I'm glad to hear the morning sickness has gone away!

Sandi - I've been trying to be more pro-active when it comes to Christmas shopping. This way the bills don't all hit at once and I'm not wracking my brain for a last minute gift idea!

Dennis - I hope you're feeling alittle bit better! There was a girl at work a day after you announced that you had pneumonia that found out she had walking pneumonia. She had gone to an exercise class sponsored by the casino and started to have chest pains. she came back to the office and the nurse was called who then called an ambulance. She takes medication for high-blood pressure and also for acid-reflux disease. Thank God it wasn't a heart attack but still it is scary to think that she had pneumonia and really wasn't aware of it! :o

I hope you have a great time at your BBQ!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday! Take care!

Good morning everyone,

I had fun while at my mom's place. :) We had a lot that needed to get done, though; so there was a lot of work involved in my day off yesterday (and even Thursday night). While away letting the bug spray work, we ate lunch at Islands (a great Southern California burger place); saw one of my friends from high school at her work (it was across the street); and saw all of the new construction at my church firsthand. It was awesome. :)

Has anyone ever been to a Harvest Crusade? I have been now. :) I went to my first ever one last night and it was powerful. The one that I went to was at Edison International Field of Anaheim (where the Anaheim Angels play baseball) and they had TONS of music, a few speakers, and at the end of the service they allowed people who were accepting Jesus into their lives to come down onto the turf and say a prayer; then receive a Bible made just for them. :) That was cool to watch. :D On our way out of the stadium; traffic was HORRENDOUS. :( It took us about 5 or 6 turns of the light (5 minutes each :( ) just to get to the light. :( When we got to the front of the line, THE DUMB LIGHT NEVER TURNED!!! Then the next light cycle came and IT FAILED TO TURN AGAIN!!! So my mom beeped her horn and ran the red light! That was cool. :D Overall, I'd give it a 9 out of 10. :)

The weather here is WARM! :o Yesterday it hit 84 here at home and the low to mid 90s where I was (further inland and a bit southeast of here). Right now it is 73.6° at 9:05 AM. :o Gonna be a warm one.

From what I heard around Appleton/ Green Bay is that we had tons and tons of rainfall. An ULL stalled out over Lake Superior and we were constantly getting the brunt of the afternoon instability showers. :o 12" fell in Calumet County; :o 7" fell in Menasha; :o 10" in Appleton! :o This happened in 2 days, leading to heavy localized flooding. On the other hand, NW Minnesota really didn't have any of the shower activity, it was mainly partly cloudy for the entire 2 weeks that we were there. Some shower activity, but those were scarce and moved around Cass Lake vacinity.

Bronni....you are showing already!!! OMG you may be expecting more than one.

Steph and Ticka....christmas shopping already! Whoa....slow down. Tis to early for that!

Dennis...pneumonia is horrible....Had Walking pneumonia and regular pneumonia when I was little....those were bad cases. Thankfully, no hospital visits (just clinic visits)

Good Morning!

Had a GREAT light show most of the night, CC-CG lightning so intense that it lite the whole house up! No rain, well......maybe 10 sprinkles. Read the NAFD this morning, there's a low making it's way "WEST" from the Ohio Valley, is that a little unusual?? I can't ever remember a low moving *backwards* like that before?????

Josh.......yes indeed, I "LOVED" the Harvest Crusade, that's were I got to meet Dennis Agajanian.......speaking of which, Sandi, I haven't forgotten you, I haven't had time to burn a copy of his CD off for you, hang in there! Josh.....were there 2 midgets there (no offense meant by that but they are midgets, a husband, wife team)?? He was at our Crusade, he and his wife walked from Florida to California 2 years back to spread the word of God.......very cool ppl.

Well........not much else going on this early morning, I just heard the paper guy drive by......make it a GREAT day would ya?

I didn't happen to notice, Dennis; it was mainly a music event. The speaker at my event was Pastor Greg Laurie. ;)

Hey ya'll!

I've been remiss in checking in and chatting most of the summer...we've taken on some major renovations on our house, and we've kept very very busy painting, replacing old cast iron plumbing...ugh (tearing walls out), working with a decorator, etc...I never get online anymore! Schools starting next week, so I'll be online more regularly, since some of our cirriculum is online!

Hope everyone is having a great summer!

Fur - you literally took the words right out of my mouth! I saw you had just replied on the porch topic and did a double take!!! Fur, posting??? LOL So I thought oh I'll just post and say I'm sorry folks for not popping in here more often, I've been remiss. GMTA, huh Fur? he he

You sound very busy Fur. Sure wish I could have carved time out for long overdue household projects around here. I can start them next week when school starts up again. But first I'll have to give this house a thorough cleaning! Dust bunnies, clutter, junk. All we did was run this summer. I honestly don't know where the time went. I managed to get my yard in shape a few times, but it's only half mulched. And you can imagine my hard work in the back yard is in sore need of mulch right now. Just one of those things that slid to the wayside this summer. Me? I just want things back to "normal", whatever that is. Stocked pantry, regular meals, laundry/ironing caught up. Ahhh, but summer comes just once a year. In oh about 5 years, I will have my summers again. To do whatever! I will be in shock I know but for now the kids keep me running. And yes someday I will miss this crazy schedule.......if they could just give me one full day to myself I'd handle it better. Both girls said they'd do that but it never happened - they were going to let me sleep in, go out to lunch, shop, etc. and not be needed until dinner time. Never happened!!!! Sure could use a day like that right now.....sounds like you could too Fur!

Hope everyone on the Porch has had a great summer!!

Hey gang!

Furry - I'm glad you got a minute to pop in. sounds like the renovations are taking up alot of your time, but it will be well worth it!

Has anyone heard from Kitzel?

I'll be taking off in about a half an hour to go to the airport. Once again, I appreciate everyone's replies and responses back on my thread.

I hope everyone is doing well and I'll see you in a couple of days!

Good Evening one and all!

Boy...this has been the week from Hades for a lot of our weather buddies, seems like almost everyone here has problems that need prayers......rest assured, everyone that needs prayers will be lifted up before the Father!

We've had a VERY busy Saturday.......with business still rockin' and rollin', today was honeydo day BIG TIME AND we had our monthly Search and Rescue training with the police dept and fire dept down on the rez.......got to do some technical rescue training....ever try to repel off a cliff (only 10 feet high) with a 90 lb dog on a rope??? GEEESH.......my back is KILLING me, me thinks Macy is going on a diet "LOL!" We also got to do *hot loads*.......loading the dogs into a chopper while the engine was going...."LOL!" WHATTA joke THAT was...you could see Macy and Sweetz sayin' "UH UH......you aint EVEN gonna get me in THAT thing!"

Anyways......sure has felt like autumn the past few days, cool rains, temps in the lower 60's with a breeze.......man, I can't WAIT!

Well, got some chicken boiling in *secret* spices for shredded chicken enchiladas tonight! Have a GREAT night would ya's??

Howdy everyone! :)

It seems forever since I have sat on the front porch, especially in Breeze's hammock (thanks Breeze! ;) ) so I am taking advantage of it this morning.

Hope everyone has been doing well. Hopefully I will be able to check in here more often when school starts up a week from today!

Enjoy today... even if it is a Monday!

Hello everyone. Stopping by to view Garrett on Annette's hammock and to have some lemonade with only a few ice cubes. :D

Today is my father's 75th birthday. We are going out to eat with at least one other couple, one hour from now.

Jacki, nice to see you here indeed, even for a short time. :)

Perry, my digital thermometer was reading the mid to upper 90's in the last hour or too, it now says 92.7ºF; I am not sure if it was has hot has it said. Forecast highs for the Orlando area are running 89ºF to 93ºF this week.

So, finally the Atlanta area is getting another day at 90ºF or above.

Have a great rest of your Monday and week ahead, everyone.

Good Strange Morning!

And a strange one at that, I can't stay but just a second, I've got ONE HECK of a storm fixing to SLAM into me in about 2 minutes or less.......lotsa CG lightning, I haven't seen a storm like this in the morning in EONS! "RAIN DELAY!" WooooHooooo, I've been waiting for a rain delay day all summer.....

One another note, our coffee maker maker went "Phhhfttt!" this morning "AUUUGGGGH!" I "HAVE" to have my coffee in the morning, if not....you'll see one GROUCHY snowman "LOL!" Thank goodness for instant, had to rob the camping supplies this early a.m...........I'm not that fond of instant but hey....any port in a storm like they say!

Gotta git off line before the lightning gets any closer, make it a GREAT day would ya?
