Disappointing model trend ... looks like my sprinklers will continue their workout later this week with no relief in sight.

Nope. Steering currents are still the same, timing is about the same. Development chances about the same (20-30%). Probably just some rain for the mid Gulf Coast late Wed and Thu.

What are the steering currents? Is the ridge still in place in the Arkansas or Tennessee region? Normally, someone posts a picture of the steering currents

Camille (200+winds), Frederic, Goerges, Katrina... and many many more.
Disclaimer: I'm likely the smartest guy here... but I have no idea where a tropical cyclone will go. I suggest you take my opinion as a grain of salt. I suggest you look to the National Hurricane Center for accurate info.

At this point, perhaps a rain-maker, and not much else. Humberto and Edouard scenario unlikely?

Really hard to say for sure on intensity, the models are not so keen on getting that right.

So far this is the best model.. very conservative and develops a low near Key west which is nearly where it should as the trough drops a little farther south
