I think now that the dry air is out, the ULL is moving away, that we could see 60 MPH by morning.

Yeah the LLC is tightening up quite nicely there Aric, if we do see some sort of convective blow up then things will get rather interesting...if not then probably a moderate storm I'd imagine...

because it all depends on the a few things .. but likely in this case thats where all the heavy convection is located... pressure gradient is very broad but it is lower near the LLC but since there is no convection really near the LLC there is lighter winds but as convection build near the LLC we should see the higher winds closer to the LLC.

That's how I like disturbances. Taking just two days to develop. 93L needs to learn from 94L!!

A tropical day. Looks like the biggest potential threat over the next 24 hours from you across to the SE FL Coast is training. Stay dry.

Would a deeper system in any way affect the ultimate point of landfall as opposed to a weaker system being portrayed by most of the models?

For those who dont know this, our graphic is automated and that is why every time a invest is renumbered or upgraded, it dissappears from the graphic.

Big anniversary Friday, Aug. 13. My son, who lives in Punta Gorda and went through the worst of it, just reminded me that is the anniversary of Hurricane Charlie. If you recall, Charlie pulled a fast one and made a hard right from the gulf into Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte.
