I'm sorry, but when I read the headline "Five Years After: Hurricane Katrina Began as Unassuming Tropical Depression," I thought, "Yeah, so does every other hurricane."

I know what you mean, though it is true that at first it didn't seem very impressive at all - until it became a hurricane just east of here, then it seemed to strengthen even while it was crossing this area - the rest is history...

Who would have thought on August 23, 2005, when Katrina was born, that it would be the worst storm in generations?

Sustained winds of 160 mph at landfall? I thought Katrina was "officially" a cat 4 at landfall and during the post season evaluation it was downgraded to a cat 3 at landfall?
