Here's a cool rapid scan loop I'd thought I share that I saw on today's CIMSS Blog.
It looks like it starts out with what looks to be an eyewall hot-tower firing off.

I agree that this season is a disappointment. Everyone gets all excited at the prospect of a storm to follow, hopefully one that will not harm anyone, and they fizzle out. Boring, boring, boring!

This season may be disappointing, but we're ahead of 1998 which peaked late. I expect the same for this season.

Huh? tropics are heating up and we'll likely have two systems shortly with possibly a third in a few days. Compared to June and July, this is ramping up as forecasted.

Did we jump to October?
Nope. Its still August. My guess is at least 12 storms in the next 10 weeks.

looks like the new player in the mid to long range (5-7) days is a Upper low in the SE which could work to kick danielle WNW/NW again after she turns North in a few days.....most believe she will be too deep into the recurve process but she does have a couple ensemble members taking her toward the NE coast i believe.

No threat to the East U.S. Coast. Massive high forecast for the East U.S. Coast this coming weekend. And massive low over Eastern Canada by early next week. The only possible land threat remains Bermuda. That's the significant shift, indicating Danielle may pass closer to Bermuda than earlier.
