Agreed. He needs to turn and soon if the current forecasts are going to verify. What effect would his path have on 97 aka future Fiona?
Earlier recurve as the trough advances untouched by Earl?

What strengh you put it right now?
Based on Recon reports, 65 kt seems reasonable.

Truthfully I hope they ALL recurve away from anybody like my namesake has done. But that's just an old caned-out gal speaking, not a full weather expert like you guys.

I'm thinking south of PR.
If he gets into the Caribbean all bets are off.
Hope to see that turn soon.

I just don't see that happening, with the setup, Earl getting deeper/better organized & all, but we'll see.

Doesn't look like Earl has any intention of turning in that loop.

Watch out islands! I hope that you're prepared or are preparing right now.

Curiously the track has shifted right some despite Earl still moving nearly due west

It could just keep going W for a while. But this always happens at the end of a ridge...they look like they are just going to keep right on trucking only to turn abruptly at the last minute. We'll see what happens.

I expect traffic on this board to increase exponentially pretty soon as Earl comes close and 97 follows.

Re: ATL: Hurricane EARL - Discussion
I really would've thought the track would've been updated westward. But being in eastern NC, this suits me just fine for now!

NHC Track Projection has been updated. Seems like RI is right in the bulls eye. To early to confirm anything. I'm not in a mood to see a hurricane up close -_-
