I remember Lili clearly. He even went on the CBS National News and said the turn had not begun, when the real question was whether or not the system would make landfall in New Orleans unexpectedly as there was a NNW wobble at the time

As for my hatred of Inaccuweather, that has to do with a personal hatred I have with the way they treated a friend of mine

Hey Derek, Accuweather is notorius for that. In met circles, they are known as the sweatshop. I can see both points. If you are dumb enough to sign a 5 year contract making 16 grand a year...then that's your fault. But...a 4 year college student with no experience finds a tough job market when they graduate and often has no choice.

Derek,

I wasn't referring to you either. I don't really care for Accuweather outside of Joe B. They have some okay graphics, but I'd give them about as much attention as I give TWC if it weren't for the coumns and streaming videos during tropical season.

Very good thread going here and i of course have something to add.............:) Starting with Mitchell.............I myself am from the DE/MD coast and for one stayed away from the local guys especially down there in the Big Bury) As some call it....(Salisbury,MD)............I learned years ago that they fixed the forecast somewhat in relation to the beaches.................Meaning there werent too many times when a few days out when you would see a basic rain forecast for the weekend in particular......................Yes and i learned this info from all the way at the top..................So no matter what was comming somehow the guys at 16 and 47 had to include some sun in there forecast for the weekend because of the resorts.....................Draper that owns 16 (CBS) was the first to do this...................Even some of the Baltimore stations got in on this practice with thier beach forecast which i really dont know if they still do it any more seeing how i no longer live there.................It always gave me a laugh when i would see a complete rain forecast for the city there and for the beaches you would be guarenteed to see the sun.......................But yes you cant always blame the weather guys you see on TV for your busted forecast......................Like Ticka said they do have bosses to answer to as well.......................Either way this is a slight reason why i have stayed away from persuing a career in this field and the main reason i stay away from the local guys in a resort area....................It has left a long lasting bad taste in my mouth........................
