Any chance that the ULL over Louisiana could cause the trough over the central USA to slow its progression down a bit allowing Earl to remain on a NW course a tad bit longer placing the hurricane closer to the EC? Earl still looks good on the satellite, I don't see the dry air being that much of an issue.....MGC

wow, it does look like Bonnie, my first experience with a hurricane on the coast, we lived three blocks off the beach in Myrtle and I was working at the parks and rec and couldn't leave until the curfew started because of city officials now able to pick up their kids until everyone else was cleared out. Was a mighty fun hurricane party from what I can remember out at Coastal Carolina!

I remember Bonnie very well. It was my first hurricane in Virginia Beach. That one stayed just off shore and it was a mess here...

METS - how could this affect the Chesapeake Bay? I have friends that live very close to it on its west side.

Possible, but Earl has some cooler water ahead of him. He will likely hold this level or decrease slightly.

Earl looks way better today, possibly strengthening; the core is pretty tight.

Just goes to show, when you are on the west and southwest side of a storm it can make a big difference in affects.
