I really dont think it looks that good... looks worse than fiona and earl.. weak surface features spotty convection ... but I had little doubt it would develop. Just figured the NHC would do what it normally does and wait for actual organized convection

Wow ... I'm a bit surprised. I thought 5pm was a possibility, but not 11am.

They must have got some definitive data from ascat or a ship report or something.

Got someone on another board saying Tropical Depression 9 is up on RBt ... and ftp://ftp.tpc.ncep.noaa.gov/atcf/tcweb/ HAS started a file for a #9 storm.

Of course NHC is the official word, but man that's quick. :D

what beginning... its looked worse yesterday with no signs of anything at the surface only a mid level circulation..
even this morning the convection is only a little better organized and only popcorn type... but oh well it was on its way regardless..

So that’s why 98L disappeared from the S2K header graphic:

This thing is developing unbelievably fast, man!

Navy NRL has just updated with 09NINE.

This little guy is really pushing to prove himself. o.o Must be all those raw eggs he eats. (yes i know, Disney Movie references are lame)

If this takes the track over to the northern leewards again .... man that's a lot of beating those islands have taken. :(

Talk about a huge difference between the development of 97L and this one. We go from 10% chance yesterday to a TD today. While 97L was at the high chance percentage for over 3 days.

The one that scares me is when we get to IGOR.
Can't be a very friendly storm.......
